NUMBER THREE – KENDALL FULLER

Kendall Fuller didn’t have a bad 2018 season by any means, but the former Washington Redskin will need to up his game this year if he wants a Super Bowl ring. The Chiefs received Fuller when they sent Alex Smith to Washington and the plan at the time appeared to be pairing Fuller with Marcus Peters.

Well, that plan lasted maybe two weeks tops. Peters was traded and Fuller was then propelled into the CB1 role. He did fine, but the Chiefs were still 31st in passing defense, so whatever Fuller was doing last year obviously wasn’t good enough.

The Chiefs added Bashaud Breeland in free agency to assist Fuller in the secondary. The team also has Charvarius Ward, Keith Reiser, rookie Rashad Fenton, and Tremon Smith to help out at corner.

Fuller is on a three-year deal with the Chiefs and is entering year two of that deal. If he wants an extension after 2019, he’ll need to play lights out football this season.
