The 2019 NFL Draft has been over with for a few weeks now. How does the Kansas City Chiefs offensive line look now that the draft has concluded?

Shortly after the 2019 NFL Draft wrapped up, I wrote a post on how the Kansas City Chiefs offensive line situation hadn’t changed much since the end of the 2018 season. While that could very well still be the case, the Chiefs have added a few offensive linemen since that post was written.

Here’s what the offensive line looks like, according to the Chiefs official roster.

Last year’s starting offensive line by the season’s end was Eric Fisher (left tackle), Cameron Erving (left guard), Austin Reiter (center), Laurent Duvernay-Tardif (right guard), and Mitchell Schwartz (right tackle). All five of those guys are still on the roster, but are they all safe at their respective positions?

The most vulnerable to losing his starting gig would be Erving, who is better in a swing role. Erving took over at left guard last season and while he wasn’t awful, there could be improvement at that spot for sure.

Perhaps rookie Nick Allegretti comes in and wows everyone and ends up at that spot? That’d be great, but he was a seventh round draft pick, so let’s not get our hopes up for that to immediately happen. Allegretti might need a season or two to get polished as a true left guard in the NFL.

Austin Reiter was clearly impressive enough at center that the Chiefs felt okay with letting Mitch Morse depart in free agency. It was the right move, as Morse was injured frequently, but hopefully Reiter can follow up with his impressive 2018 with an even better one now that the job is his.

Andrew Wylie, like Erving, is another great swing option. He’s listed as a tackle, but spent time at right guard last season when LDT went down with an injury. Wylie proved that he can be effective at a position other than tackle and that makes him very important to this team moving forward.

The rest of the guys on the offensive line depth chart are just camp bodies for now. Only two of them are rookies (Allegretti and Dino Boyd) while the Chiefs also brought in UDFAs Alex Fontana of Kansas, Bruno Reagan of Vanderbilt, and Maurice Simba of Concordia. Could any of those UDFAs make an impression in camp this summer?

What do you predict the final offensive line depth chart will look like, Chiefs fans?
