Loser: Fringe Roster Players

The harsh reality in the NFL is that whenever a new offseason comes and goes, so does fringe players trying to make the team. It is easy to get excited about fresh new faces, but it is just as easy to forget that those faces are going to be personally packing the bags of some players who are on the fringe of making the team.

Think of guys like Darrel Williams, Marcus Kemp, and Xavier Williams. Guys who have worked hard, but because of how the draft ended up, could be looking for work in a few months time.

The competition is and always will be good for the team as a whole, but the human side of things means that guys who are replaced have to uproot their lives and start over. In some cases, it is the end of the line for older veterans trying to cling to one last team.

Regardless of what happens, be grateful for the work these guys put in. Once a Chief, always a Chief.
