RANKING EVERY FIRST ROUND PICK IN CHIEFS HISTORY

NUMBER 35 – GEORGE DANEY

With the 22nd overall pick in the 1968 NFL Draft, the Chiefs took George Daney out of Texas-El Paso. Daney was a prolific offensive guard during his collegiate days and actually spent quite a bit of time in Kansas City.

Daney was with the Chiefs for seven seasons, but he’s ranked lower on here because he was never a long-term starter. He appeared in 97 games, but only started 29 of them. For a first round pick, he should have been starting all of those games.

NUMBER 34 – RYAN SIMS

When it comes to some of the biggest busts in Kansas City Chiefs history, Ryan Sims‘ name appears on that list nine times out of ten. He was truly terrible. Sims was taken with the sixth overall pick in the 2002 NFL Draft and despite spending five seasons with the Chiefs, was a huge disappointment.

The North Carolina defensive tackle totaled 64 tackles and five sacks during that time. He also had a lot of off the field problems and when looking at some of the other names taken after him in the 2002 draft, it doesn’t help Sims’ case.

NUMBER 33 – GREG HILL

Greg Hill was the 25th overall pick in the 1994 NFL Draft out of Texas A&M. The running back played for Kansas City for four years, totaling 2,436 yards, but only finding the end zone six times. He played for the Rams in 1998 and the Lions in 1999 and was out of the league after that.

**Two of these names are likely known by casual fans, but despite being in KC for at least four years, neither lived up to their first round hype.**
