The 2019 season could bring final curtain on Travis Kelce career in Kansas City, but it’s too early to say for sure.

More from Kansas City Chiefs

At this point last year, we had a level of confidence that Justin Houston was likely entering his last season with the Kansas City Chiefs. At this point now, on the eve of the 2019 NFL Draft, we can all be fairly confident Sammy Watkins is entering the final year of his Chiefs tenure. The Kelce situation will be one to keep an eye on.

Andy Reid has a history of moving on from players when they start to get either old and/or expensive and this offseason should answer the question if the Chiefs will make a ‘bold’ move with personnel. If the Chiefs brain trust believes a move is in the best LONG-TERM interest (bolded for emphasis), I have no doubt a Kelce trade can happen next year.

Obviously, it would be stunning if the Chiefs traded Kelce before the start of the 2019 season. However, I would not be surprised if the Chiefs moved the tight end next offseason. I also wouldn’t be surprised if the Chiefs keep Kelce for the duration of his career.

What do you think, Chiefs fans? Is Kelce off limits as far as trading goes?
