NUMBER 4 – RIGHT FIELD SITUATION

As Joel Wagler touched on the other day, the Royals continue to struggle finding a solid answer in right field. They released Brian Goodwin the other day and now appear to be content having Jorge Soler, Chris Owings, and Terrance Gore as options in right field.

More. Right Field Situation is Disastrous. light

Soler has long been known for his inability to play defense, Owings is a utility guy, and Gore is merely a pinch runner. Soler should be more of a designated hitter than a defender and the Royals can’t put Owings out there each day.

All of this being said, right field will have eyeballs on it come Opening Day. Who will get the start there is one area fans will fixate on, but the other is going to be how that guy does. Is right field defense sloppy, or does it get by just fine?

Keep an eye on right field as the Kansas City Royals open up the 2019 season.
