TIGHT END OPTIONS IN FREE AGENCY

NUMBER 4 – TYLER EIFERT

Throw this one into the “unlikely” category, but Tyler Eifert as a Chief would be pretty cool. The former first round pick had potential to be the next big thing at tight end, but in his six years in Cincinnati, he missed a lot of time due to injury.

Throughout those six seasons, Eifert never played in all 16 games and only played double digit games twice. Last season he suffered a gruesome leg injury after just four games.

With his injury proneness, it’s doubtful the Bengals bring Eifert back. Those injuries also will make teams less willing to take a risk on him, so the Chiefs offering him a one-year “prove it” deal could work.

While I’d like to see Tyler Eifert play for the Chiefs, there’s been no indication that he’s even healthy enough to return to action yet. That’d be a big key obviously, but if the 28 year old tight end is good to go, the Chiefs should absolutely consider bringing him in.
