Rock Ya-Sin, Cornerback (Temple)

Rock Ya-Sin is a triple Senior Bowl winner.

First, he won the best name in Mobile, which is obvious. Second, he won the ‘measurement’ shrink award, going from the 6’2″ he was listed at Temple to just under six feet. Lastly, he was able to answer questions and concerns about his speed displaying an ability to stay with receivers in down field reps during the week.

A one-year player at Temple after spending his first three seasons at Presbyterian College before they gave up football, Ya-Sin displayed an ability to play physical man coverage during his one season at Temple. He did so with long arms and good closing quickness. He can struggle tracking the ball in the air and while a decent tackler, at times appears to choose not to.

There are questions about what the Chiefs will look for in a corner with a new coordinator at the helm. Ya-Sin is a quality press man corner with good size and physicality. Perhaps coaching at the NFL level will help further enhance his skill set, one that already is a quality corner able to contribute in sub packages early.
