I know I should be thankful that the Kansas City Chiefs got as far as they did, but this one will hurt for awhile.

The Chiefs were so freaking close to making it to the Super Bowl. When Ward had that interception, I screamed so loud because I seriously thought this team was going to the Super Bowl.

Alas, it wasn’t meant to be this year. It’ll be the stupid Patriots in the Super Bowl once again.

Like I mentioned earlier, it’s hard to blame this loss on Dee Ford, but the storylines will certainly surround him this offseason. Will the team bring him back next year? Will the fans hold this one against him for that offsides penalty? It could be a difficult offseason for the former first round pick.

When push comes to shove, however, we should all be excited moving forward because of Patrick Mahomes. What this kid was able to accomplish in his first year as the starting quarterback was incredible. He’s only going to get better too and that’s the best news there is for Chiefs fans.

The Patriots dynasty has to end sometime and when it does, who better to take the reins than Patrick Mahomes?

This loss will sting for a long time, but hopefully we’re right back in the AFC Championship Game this time next year. Stay strong, Chiefs Kingdom.
