Kansas City Chiefs: Five things to watch in AFC Championship Game

WHAT TO WATCH IN AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
Field Conditions
For anyone who lives in or near Kansas City, you know that the weather is going to be miserable this weekend. While the forecast mostly calls for just chilly temperatures on Sunday during the game, the field will certainly feel the brunt of the gross weather from earlier in the weekend.

The field conditions are an advantage for the Chiefs as they play on grass for home games as opposed to the artificial surface the Patriots run around on.
The Chiefs will have access to the new field surface while the visitors will not be on the field until Championship game Sunday. That means they’ll have a feel for the field while the Patriots won’t get used to it until closer to game time.
Harrison Butker will get the opportunity to continue to gain experience kicking in the cold (he’s from Georgia Tech) and the offense will work on finding their footing on the cold grass surface.
However, if the field conditions due become a negative issue, it certainly can affect and aide the Patriots. Nothing slows down receivers more the slipping and falling to the surface. Will Sammy Watkins, Travis Kelce along with Hill and Williams be able to find and keep their footing? Can Houston and Ford maintain balance and speed coming around the edge?
These are all critical things to watch for this weekend’s game at Arrowhead Stadium. Go Chiefs!
