Hallelujah! The Ravens helped out the KC Chiefs on Saturday by knocking off the Chargers by a score of 22-10. With the Charger losing, all the Chiefs have to do to secure the division is to win on Sunday night in Seattle.

Christmas might come early for Kansas City Chiefs fans! Chiefs Kingdom was on the edge of their seats on Saturday night when the Chargers hosted the Ravens in a big time game for both teams.

While the score was 16-10 with just three minutes to go and looking like the Chargers were going to pull off another come from behind win, the Ravens made key plays and won by 12 points. The Chiefs might not have suited up on Saturday night, but this was a huge victory for them regardless.

With the Chargers falling to Baltimore, all the Chiefs have to do now to win their third straight AFC West is beat the Seahawks on Sunday Night Football. That won’t be an easy task, as the Seahawks have a great running game and an okay defense.

More from Kansas City Chiefs

If the Chiefs can win a big game in primetime (a knock on Patrick Mahomes to this point is that he can’t win big games), they’ll not only win the AFC West, but they’ll be in great position to have a first round bye in the playoffs. The stakes couldn’t be higher on Sunday night.

Let’s say the Chiefs lose to Seattle just for the hell of it. They’ll still have the advantage over the Chargers, as the Chiefs host the Raiders in week 17 while the Chargers would travel to Denver for the season finale. As much as I hate to compliment the Broncos, they’re certainly a tougher match-up than the Raiders are.

Hopefully the KC Chiefs just make it easier on all of us by winning on Sunday night and clinching the division now so we don’t have to sweat it out for another week. As I touched on earlier, however, the Seahawks are no slouch and their home field advantage is for real. It’s not going to be a gimme for the Chiefs, but the Seahawks haven’t seen a quarterback quite like Mahomes yet.

This Chargers/Ravens game was a lot of fun and it had the right result for Chiefs Kingdom. Now if the Kansas City Chiefs could take down the Seahawks, it’d make for a nice Christmas for Chiefs fans everywhere.
