ROYALS ALL-TIME LEADERS IN RBI: NUMBER 17 (TIE) – ALCIDES ESCOBAR (390)

ROYALS SHORTSTOP FROM 2011-2018

Alcides Escobar is the first “new” Royal on this list and he’s tied for the 17th spot in all-time RBIs. Escobar initially signed with the Brewers at the age of 16 and was traded to the Royals eight years later.

It was with the Royals that Escobar played his best ball. Once the younger players got their call-ups and the plan was put into place, Esky came into his own and was one of the most fun players to watch on the team during those runs in 2014 and 2015.

2014 in particular was a good season for Esky, as he batted .285/.317/.377 with 50 RBI. During the postseason in 2015, Escobar was at his peak and won the ALCS MVP that year after slashing .478/.481/.652 with five RBI.

The end of Escobar’s Royals career wasn’t great, but hopefully fans remember him more for those moments he had in the playoffs. His inside the park home run in Game 1 of the 2015 World Series was a moment none of us will EVER forget.
