Losing sucks, but what Chiefs fans should remember is that the two games they’ve lost have been to two REALLY good teams.

More from Kansas City Chiefs

The first loss came in week six to the Patriots, who are 7-3 and going to win the AFC East and honestly, probably will make the Super Bowl yet again. The second loss was obviously on Monday night against the blue and gold Rams, another legitimate Super Bowl contender.

A 9-2 record in November isn’t anything to scoff at and with the Chargers losing on Sunday, the Chiefs don’t lose any ground in the AFC West. They do have the same amount of losses as the Steelers now, however, and are just a game up on the Patriots, who hold the tiebreaker over them.

This game displayed Mahomes getting rattled at times, but he can’t be solely blamed for the loss. The defense allowed over 450 yards and Goff was picking them apart all night. The penalties were also ugly and cost the Chiefs a lot of yardage in the first half.

Give the team credit though. It looked done after the Rams went up 40-30 and I had actually started on this article for Tuesday morning at that point, being the Debbie Downer that I usually am. As soon as Mahomes was able to get it within three and the defense forced a stop, I closed my laptop and figured I’d just ride this game out, which was a smart decision, even if the Chiefs didn’t win.

Next up for the 9-2 Chiefs is a much needed bye week and a chance for the guys to get healthy and regroup after a gut wrenching loss. After the bye, the Chiefs will head to the gross Black Hole to face the hapless Raiders, so we might as well say they have two bye weeks coming up.

What do you think was good, bad, and ugly in this loss to the Rams?
