Kansas City Chiefs continue to own the Denver Broncos
The Kansas City Chiefs are 7-1 in 2018 and they got their seventh win by defeating the Denver Broncos for the seventh straight time.
It’s always great to win games in the National Football League, but beating the Denver Broncos is even sweeter. The Kansas City Chiefs have now won seven consecutive games against the Broncos, dating back to 2015. It’s their third season in a row sweeping the Donkeys.
While the Chiefs offense certainly did their fair share in this one, let’s throw some love to the defense! The pass rush was all over Case Keenum, sacking him five times (a season high for the Chiefs D) with Dee Ford collecting three of those sacks. Ford has been playing out of his damn mind this year and is showing he is worthy of an extension.
Patrick Mahomes continued to wow everyone, throwing for over 300 yards in seven straight games and adding four touchdowns to his stats. He also threw a pretty gross interception, but fans will forgive it.

Even though the Chiefs won this game and moved to 7-1 on the year, the Broncos played Kansas City tough in both games this season. This game, much like the week four match-up, came down to the wire. Had the Broncos opted to go with the extra point earlier on rather than the two-point conversion, perhaps the outcome is different.
The Chiefs held on and won though and it’s a good feeling being 7-1. The Chargers have this week off, but they’ve been on fire lately too, so the AFC West is still up for grabs by either of those teams. Denver and Oakland are both probably out of the running for the division title (especially Oakland).
Wins are always nice, but it’s even better beating up on the Broncos. The defense stood their ground in this one and even though the offense didn’t do as much damage late in the game, Sammy Watkins was insane. He had eight receptions for 107 yards and two touchdowns. Watkins is earning that paycheck, I’d say.
Next up for the 7-1 Chiefs is a date with the Cleveland Browns on the road. The Browns aren’t good, but they have a rookie quarterback at the helm and that fan base has hope for their franchise for the first time in a long time. These are the type of games we usually label as trap games, but the Chiefs have shown they’re definitely one of the best teams in the AFC.
Another good win for the good guys!
