Kansas City Chiefs: Schedule softens for 6-1 Chiefs
With most of their toughest games in the rearview mirror, the Kansas City Chiefs will now have a lighter slate of match-ups on their agenda.
When the 2018 schedule for the Kansas City Chiefs was released, it was no secret that the first six games of the year were going to be absolutely brutal for this team. It was easy to think that with four of those six games being on the road, three of those teams being playoff teams a year ago, and a new quarterback taking over the offense, that 3-3 would be a good record out of that stretch.
Instead, the Chiefs went 5-1 in their first six games and honestly could have been 6-0 had their offense gotten it going sooner in Foxboro. Even their seventh game of the season became a much tougher affair, as the Bengals were looking good in their first six games.
We all know the Chiefs smoked the Bengals and are 6-1 on the year now. After such a brutal schedule to start the year, the red-hot Chiefs get a much easier schedule over these next few weeks. Here are the remaining regular season games for KC:

To put the remaining schedule into perspective for Chiefs fans, only three of those teams currently have winning records, and one of those teams with a winning record is a team the Chiefs have handled with ease over the last four years (the Chargers). The Rams game is certainly the toughest remaining on the schedule, but it’s not even in Los Angeles, so that’s an advantage for KC.
While the Chiefs will obviously slip up in a few more of these games (see last year’s horrid stretch after their bye week), this schedule is favorable for a team looking to notch its third straight division title.
Even with a difficult stretch to start the year, the Kansas City Chiefs proved the naysayers wrong and went 5-1 out of those six games. Now they’ll face bad teams and with how good this offense has been all season, what’s stopping the Chiefs from going 12-4 or 13-3?
They’ll have their hands full with the Rams, Ravens, and that Chargers game could be closer than we think, but for the most part, Kansas City is already in control of their own destiny, and that’s exciting for this organization and its fan base.
