The Patriots, who were 3-0 at Gillette and 0-2 on the road heading into the game, have now won nine straight at home while averaging 32 points per game. It’s not easy to beat Tom Brady in Foxborough.

Yes, the Chiefs did it in Week 1 last year, but their super skilled offense was not widely known at the time, and they caught Brady and the Patriots off guard. That wasn’t happening this year after the Chiefs once again ran off five straight victories to open the season.

More from Kansas City Chiefs

Some people may look to this game as another one that exposed a Chiefs defense, but couple the injuries and one of the toughest environments to play in, and nearly any team would give up 35-plus points. In fact, the past two — Miami and Indianapolis — each allowed the Patriots to score 38.

Yes, the Chiefs needs to address the secondary, but we already knew that. While only holding a one-game lead over the Los Angeles Chargers, Kansas City is still the team to beat in the AFC West — and most likely the entire AFC if they can grab a No. 1 seed heading into the playoffs.

For now, be happy your team has one of the most exciting offenses in the league.
