Northwestern is a good team, even if their record doesn’t really indicate it. They’ve beaten both Purdue (a team who defeated Nebraska pretty handily a few weeks ago) and a ranked Michigan State squad.

It’s been a really difficult season for Nebraska football, but a win will come eventually. Nebraska and Northwestern have always played each other tough since the Huskers came to the Big Ten, with two of the last three games being a one score game.

More from Nebraska Cornhuskers

We’re slowly, but surely, starting to see Nebraska put some decent drives together and gel together as a team. While the run defense got trounced last week, Wisconsin does have one of the best running backs in the nation. Northwestern shouldn’t give the Huskers as much trouble there… at least we hope not.

Husker fans want to see their team win and we all want Scott Frost to get that first coveted win of his Nebraska coaching career. Big Red is running out of winnable games and while Northwestern looks to be the better team, this is a winnable game for the Cornhuskers.

Nebraska has nothing to lose this weekend. They’re already 0-5 on the year, so how much worse is 0-6? If they win, they finally get that monkey off their back and maybe that could spark the beginning of a magical string of games down the road.

Go Big Red!
