KC Chiefs: Five things we learned from win over Jacksonville
By Mike Norris
The Chiefs are riding high right now, but there are some who will tell you not to believe in this squad just yet.
And that doesn’t come from a completely biased place.
This 5-0 start is only tied for second in the Reid era. The KC Chiefs had an identical record through five games last year and began 9-0 in 2013 before finishing 11-5 and losing to the Indianapolis Colts in a Wild Card game.

Kansas City is 58-27 under Reid in the regular season but 1-4 in the postseason. The Chiefs went 13-3, three times between 1995 and 2003, only to lose at home in the playoffs each time, including twice to those pesky Colts.
But there is a difference with this team, and it starts with Mahomes.
He’s put up the numbers, proven he is a leader, and, with all due respect to Steve Bono, Trent Green, Alex Smith , nd even past-his-prime Joe Montana, shown his athletic ability to be something the Chiefs have never seen under center.
Combine that with a swagger and grittiness not seen since the Chiefs of the 60s and 70s, and you have the formula of a Super Bowl contender.
To get there they’ll have to win more than one playoff game. And while fans may cringe thinking about another possible Arrowhead playoff loss, it appears the AFC Championship will go through Kansas City.
Buckle up Chiefs fans, it’s going to be a fun ride.
