Kansas State’s rushing attack against the Longhorns’ stout defense

As was previously discussed, Kansas State doesn’t have much of an offensive presence so far this season. The Wildcats are aiming to change that a bit with Delton, but it’s improbable that he can defeat the Longhorns on his own. However, he does bring a valuable skillset that could help Kansas State move the ball.

Delton’s ability to run could give the Wildcats plenty of options on offense that could partner with Alex Barnes’ ability to run. Delton ran for 500 yards and eight touchdowns on 100 carries last year. That complimented Barnes’ 819 rushing yards and seven touchdowns pretty nicely.

Neither of them have had much success so far this season, but the season is still far from being over. So far in 2018, Delton has 116 rushing yards. Barnes has 277 and a single touchdown.

Trying to carry the ball against Texas won’t be an easy task for either Delton or Barnes. They’re going to need plenty of help from their offensive line up front. So far, Texas is holding opponents to 117 rushing yards per game.

Kansas State is hoping that their running game will spark some life into the offense and subsequently the rest of the team. Running the ball against Texas won’t be easy.
