GOOD: PASS RUSH

Well, it took three weeks, but the Chiefs pass rush finally showed up! They didn’t just have one sack, they didn’t just have two sacks or three sacks, they notched FOUR sacks on Jimmy G! That’s right… FOUR!

The best part about the re-emergence of the pass rush was that Justin Houston looked like his old self! Houston recorded two big sacks on Garoppolo and it’s amazing what happens when Bob Sutton opts not to drop Houston back into coverage. HE CAN ACTUALLY GET AFTER THE QUARTERBACK.

Allen Bailey and Dee Ford both had sacks as well, bringing both of their totals on the year to two a piece. So, for those keeping track: The Chiefs have six sacks through three games and they’re all by three different players. Bailey, Ford, and Houston, who all have two a piece.

It was great to finally see the pass rush get going, but we need to see this on a weekly basis. Their next challenge will be against a Broncos offensive line that allowed Case Keenum to get sacked three times on Sunday. I like those odds.
