FIVE THINGS TO WATCH VS MICHIGAN

NUMBER 4 – TEAMS CAN RUN ON MICHIGAN

One of Nebraska’s strongest points so far through two games has been their run game. Well, the good news there is that Michigan’s run defense is vulnerable.

The Wolverines surrendered 110 yards on the ground a week ago, though it is worth noting they did not allow any SMU rusher to go for over 50 yards on the day. The Cornhuskers didn’t have nearly as dominant a rushing performance last week, but Maurice Washington had 92 yards off of 14 carries.

If Big Red can get its run game going in Ann Arbor, they should be able to keep themselves in this game. If Michigan shuts it down and/or takes a big lead early, the Huskers are forced to turn to the sky and air it out. That’s not a battle they’re going to win.

Lean on the run if at all possible. This will especially be the case if it’s Bunch playing quarterback and not Martinez.
