STARTING ROTATION:

Brad Keller has been a revelation coming from the Rule 5 Draft and he deserves to be the “ace” next year for the Kansas City Royals. Danny Duffy has previously filled that role, but injuries and up and down performance has limited him over the years. He’ll be a nice number two starter.

Ian Kennedy would be the third starter due to the large chunk of change he’s getting from the Royals. He’s under contract for another two seasons, but I think we can already say that contract was one of the worst in franchise history.

Jakob Junis, the fourth starter, has followed up a nice rookie season with a decent second year performance. He’s currently sporting an ERA over four, but has worked it down from a 5.13 at one time.

Jorge Lopez gets the last spot. He has been a solid performer since joining the Royals rotation via the Mike Moustakas trade. He flirted with a perfect game not long ago and that in itself might have gotten him a job in the Royals rotation in 2019.
