FIVE THINGS TO WATCH VS TROY

NUMBER 4 – TROJANS FORCING TURNOVERS

Troy was probably going to put the smackdown on Florida A&M last week regardless, but one of the the keys in football is forcing turnovers. Troy forced the Rattlers into making mistakes and that helped lead them to a 59-7 victory.

For starters, Tron Folsom picked off the Florida A&M quarterback twice, so he’ll be a player for Nebraska to keep a close eye on. The Trojans also forced multiple fumbles and recovered two of them.

Considering the Cornhuskers turned the ball over three times last week, this is something to be watching for. Adrian Martinez threw an interception and fumbled twice (losing one) while Greg Bell fumbled on the team’s first drive of the season.

Nebraska has shown (in limited sample size, of course) that they don’t always take great care of the football while Troy has shown they have a knack for forcing turnovers. This could end up being a non-factor in this game, but the Trojans might keep themselves in this one if they force four turnovers again.
