The Scott Frost era of Nebraska football is off to an 0-1 start, but next up is a team that hopefully won’t give the Cornhuskers too much trouble: the Troy Trojans of the Sun Belt Conference.

After a stressful game last week in which Nebraska football fell to the Colorado Buffaloes, this week’s game brings in a non-Power-5 school to Lincoln. While Troy is a part of a smaller conference, that doesn’t mean this game is going to be a cakewalk by any means.

Troy is 1-1 on the year, getting smoked by Boise State in week one and then shredding Florida A&M last week. Troy has had success recently, most notably upsetting LSU a season ago. It’s also worth noting that Nebraska is still finding its groove both offensively and defensively, so this game might be closer than some fans are probably expecting.

That being said, what should Husker fans be keeping an eye on as Nebraska takes on Troy? Let’s take a looky loo.

FIVE THINGS TO WATCH VS TROY

NUMBER 5 – DON’T LET THIS BE A CLOSE GAME

Was anyone else’s blood pressure incredibly high in the second half of last week’s game? It was certainly a stressful half hour of football, as Nebraska fans watched the Buffaloes crawl back into the game and eventually take the lead and hold onto it for the win.

Troy might not be a bigger school, but they’re capable of upsets and Nebraska has been vulnerable to smaller schools upsetting them in recent years. They were beaten by Northern Illinois last year and BYU handled them in the first game of the Mike Riley era back in 2015.

I know this is a whole new era of Nebraska football and fans got to see that first-hand on Saturday, but it’d be nice if the Cornhuskers could put Troy away early on in this game. You know… So the rest of us can relax and breathe easy throughout the second half.
