BAD: PASS RUSH

Where was the pass rush on Sunday? Philip Rivers had no problem avoiding the pressure (or lack thereof), only getting sacked once and hit once. Dee Ford had the sack and Allen Bailey had the quarterback hit.

The pass rush struggled last year and it’s already looking like 2018 will be the same story. Ford was the only one who looked to be close to putting pressure, but it only resulted in one sack.

The Chiefs can’t continue to notch just one sack in their games. Without a good pass rush, the secondary will get shredded even more than they already have been. If the pass rush continues to let quarterbacks do whatever they want, the secondary won’t have time to make plays of their own.

With players like Justin Houston and Ford, there’s no excuse for why the Chiefs pass rush should be this non-existent. It’s going to have to get fixed, or at least somewhat fixed, or else Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers are going to have their way against the Chiefs.
