FIVE THINGS TO WATCH VS WYOMING COWBOYS
NUMBER 3 – DREW LOCK ON CRUISE CONTROL
This season, all eyes are on quarterback Drew Lock, and why shouldn’t they be? The senior quarterback at Missouri is a potential Heisman candidate and he did everything that was asked of him in the Tigers’ season opener.
Lock went 19 of 25 for 289 yards with four touchdowns and zero interceptions. He was eventually removed from the game and backup Taylor Powell got a chance to play. That was just fine with Mizzou fans, as Lock staying healthy is the most important thing. Well that, and him playing well obviously.
It was important for Lock to get his team ahead early in the season opener and he’ll need to have a similar performance in week two. Sure it’s not against a great team, but the sooner MU takes a commanding lead, the sooner Lock can get pulled and Tiger fans can stop worrying about him potentially getting injured.
Lock didn’t look confused at all with a new offensive coordinator, but how will week two treat him? Will he be just as dominant?
