WHAT TO WATCH VS WYOMING COWBOYS
NUMBER 5 – KEEP WYOMING OUT OF IT
As I mentioned in last week’s edition of Five Things to Watch, it’s always important to keep these lesser teams out of the mix early on. The Tigers did a good job at beating up on the Skyhawks early on and that made fans feel much better throughout the game.
While Wyoming is a better football program, they aren’t going to be as good this year with Josh Allen off to the NFL and it’s already showing early in the year. The Cowboys got beat pretty badly last week, losing 41-19 to Washington State.
During their first loss of the season, Wyoming’s quarterback struggled immensely, completing just eight passes for 67 yards and getting picked off once. Missouri’s defense is more than capable of putting that same type of smackdown on Tyler Vander Waal (Wyoming’s quarterback) and forcing him into some bad throws.
Tennessee-Martin was taken out of the game pretty early last week and from there, Mizzou was allowed to cruise the rest of the way. If they can take the Cowboys out of the game in the first half, week two should be smooth sailing.
