POTENTIAL SEPTEMBER CALL-UPS: JASON ADAM

Jason Adam has spent some time in the majors this year and will be an easy option for the Royals to call up. He hasn’t been the most impressive so far, appearing in 31 games (32.1 innings) and posting a 6.12 ERA.

Adam is an Overland Park native so Royals fans are definitely rooting for him to do well. He’s 27 years old and probably not in the team’s future plans unless he really starts to show something this year and next.

Jason Adam hasn’t been a great reliever this year, but with him already being on the 40-man roster and having experience in the bigs, it’s pretty likely that Royals fans will continue to watch him this fall.

POTENTIAL SEPTEMBER CALL-UPS: SCOTT BARLOW

Scott Barlow has seen time in the majors as well and has shown some promise as a reliever. He has thrown in 15 innings during his six appearances and has a 3.60 ERA with a 1-1 record.

Barlow has been in Double-A Northwest Arkansas recently after injuring himself earlier this summer. Barlow has done well for the Naturals, pitching to the tune of a 2.25 ERA in his lone appearance. He threw four innings in that start.

As long as Scott Barlow is healthy, he’ll be a shoe-in to get some innings in September. He’s also worth keeping an eye on, as he’s done okay during his limited Major League action.
