Quarterbacks

Keep: Patrick Mahomes, Chad Henne, Matt McGloin

Practice Squad: Chase Litton

Last week it seemed that the quarterback position would be an easy one to predict. However, given the reps in the Atlanta game, it seems that it might not be so easy after all. Fan favorite UDFA Chase Litton did not hit the field against the Falcons in the final quarter of the game as Matt McGloin took the third team reps once again.

Considering Litton had a solid performance in the week one game against Houston, I thought for sure he would get some playing time once again this past week. Instead, McGloin continues to run with the three’s and while he had some struggles, he likely improved his chances in his second outing.

Throwing for 58 yards and completing 9 of 10 passes, McGloin made a case for why he deserves the final quarterback spot on this roster. While I would still like the project player to be Litton, it seems that the Chiefs see something in McGloin that I don’t.

My guess is that Litton will hit the practice squad for the 2018 season. He will have to prove otherwise in the final preseason game when the backups get most of the reps, but as for now, it seems McGloin is in the lead for that final spot on the roster.
