Even though I didn’t list De’Anthony Thomas here, that doesn’t mean I think he’ll make the roster. I could see someone like Jehu Chesson or Gehrig Dieter or even Byron Pringle jumping Thomas on the depth chart.
Chesson is probably the most likely name out of this bunch to make the 53-man roster simply because he was drafted by the team and has gelled with Mahomes in the past. After him, however, it’s pretty wide open.
If the Chiefs go with six wide receivers, it could very well be the four main ones and then Chesson and Thomas because the Chiefs can’t seem to quit De’Anthony Thomas. If Thomas doesn’t make it, that will open things up for one of the other guys.
The Chiefs will also have the practice squad to stash some of these players, but that means another team can swipe them if need be. Still… That’s better than having to outright cut them.
Who would you like to see make the team out of these lesser known names?
