Kansas City Chiefs: Best games of Patrick Mahomes’ collegiate career
BEST GAMES OF MAHOMES’ COLLEGIATE CAREER – NUMBER 10
TEXAS TECH VS SAM HOUSTON STATE – SEPTEMBER 5, 2015
This is one non-conference game where the opposition never really went away, but ultimately Texas Tech came out on top. Mahomes didn’t get the first points of the day, but his first touchdown pass still came in the first quarter of action. He and Devin Lauderdale got it rocking with a 64-yard touchdown pass that put TTU up 14-7.
Mahomes threw another tie-breaking pass, this to Ian Sadler, giving TTU a 21-14 lead. The two would link up again near the end of the half on a 53-yard pass. Mahomes found Lauderdale again as well on a 29 yarder right before half time. That made it 41-32 at the half. Like I said, Sam Houston State wasn’t giving up.
As great as Mahomes was in the first half, he didn’t throw for any touchdowns (or run for any, for that matter) in the entire second half. The Red Raiders kept scoring, it just wasn’t Mahomes doing the direct damage.
Even with Mahomes’ scoreless second half, TTU won the game 59-45. This was yet another gem of a game from the future Chiefs quarterback.
