Just about anyone is on the trade table this summer, but these five players would be difficult to part ways with.

Not all of them are due to the player being talented. Ian Kennedy and Alex Gordon are players who I’m sure the Kansas City Royals would LOVE to trade, but their contracts aren’t favorable to whoever added them to their roster.

Players like Jorge Soler and Jakob Junis, however, are young and talented players who could bring back decent returns. Soler would be the more tradable piece between the two, but due to what Kansas City gave up to acquire him, keeping him seems likely. Junis should still be under contract when the Royals start to compete again, so it’d be best not to trade him.

Lastly, Salvador Perez, who is a fan favorite and would have to be worth four or five prospects in return. The Royals probably aren’t getting that offer for their catcher.

There are other members of the Royals who likely aren’t getting dealt, but that’s because the main ones are Kelvin Herrera and Mike Moustakas. Both are hitting free agency this winter and both are playing out of their minds right now. Trading them makes perfect sense. The rest of these guys, however, probably will remain in Royal blue.

Who do you think is safe from being traded?
