The recruiting process never ends for Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks. Since the 2018 class is now in place, the attention now turns to the 2019 class.

Bill Self already has a major commitment from Markese Jacobs for 2019, so he’s on the right track to bringing in yet another top recruiting class. Next season’s recruiting process may be a bit different for the Kansas Jayhawks than seasons past since scholarships may not be readily available.

According to 247sports.com, the Kansas Jayhawks have the 5th ranked draft class for 2018. The class includes two five-star guys in guards Quentin Grimes and Devon Dotson. Both are top 20 players. The class also consists of four-star big man David McCormack and local four-star small forward, Ochai Agbaji.

Jacobs is currently ranked 80th overall and the 6th overall point guard. He is considered a four-star player at the moment. Jacobs is an important early commit due to the fact that the depth of the Jayhawks in 2018 may be cut in half after the season. The potential that Bill Self has numerous NBA prospects next offseason is very realistic.

The Kansas Jayhawks will have a couple one and done freshmen as well as some possible transfers that choose to test the NBA waters. If the Jayhawks are as good as everyone thinks they will be, the spotlight will be on Kansas from start to finish.

Since Jacobs has already made his decision, let’s take a look at the five most probable Jayhawk targets for 2019.
