These five players have a chance to not only make a name for themselves in 2018, but also make a huge impact on the success of the Kansas City Chiefs.

The NFL is not a forgiving league. Nowadays, if a player has a ten-year career, they’ve done pretty well for themselves. A few bad seasons can spell the end of a once-promising dream for far too many.

Often times a change of scenery makes all the difference in the world. For Anthony Hitchens and David Amerson, this is their chance to make the most of it.

Injuries can direct a players path as well. Without being on the field, it’s awfully hard to prove that you deserve that second contract, let alone a roster spot. Each of these five players falls under that category.

The common thread between these guys is the fact that they can play, they have proven that they can. Each one has at one time or the other shown their ability and their potential. It is up to them to ultimately decide whether or not they are underrated or overrated.

Underrated means that potential has not yet been met. That they have yet to have that chance to prove themselves. In Conley’s case, he can’t afford to have another season without breaking out. There are too many young men behind them eager for their chance to prove themselves.

Spencer Ware simply needs to remind everyone of what he can do on the field. The Chiefs won plenty of games with Ware as the featured running back. He has the chance to not only be the backup to one of the best running backs in the league but to become that second ingredient of a two-headed monster in the backfield.

For Hitchens and Amerson, their careers start over in 2018. A fresh start with a fresh slate. They have the chance to write the rest of their story in Kansas City.

As far as Steven Nelson goes, this season will be the only season that matters. Not only for his career in Kansas City, but in the NFL. The stage has been given to him, what he does with it could be a make or break type of situation.
