Kansas City Royals news consists of the team finally winning a series in 2018 and also about how the offense has picked up significantly during their recent winning ways.

Sure, this past weekend’s series was against the Detroit Tigers, who aren’t much better than the Kansas City Royals, but a series win is a series win. The AL Central as a whole isn’t very good, so if the Royals can beat up on their division rivals, then fans will gladly take it.

The reason for why the Royals have been able to win games lately is due to their hot hitting at the plate. The first game of the Detroit series saw the Royals put up ten runs and they continued to do well throughout the rest of the series, winning three out of four games.

A big positive for the Royals lately has been Jorge Soler‘s offense, as the right fielder is currently hitting .308. Mike Moustakas is also red hot, batting .291 and Alex Gordon has the third highest batting average as of now (yes, you read that right) with a .288 average at the plate.

"Even though we’ll be on the outside looking in, the news from Kauffman Stadium isn’t all bad. Let’s take a look at some of the positives throughout the first 33 games."

KC Royals: Alex Gordon trying to prove the haters wrong [Tyler Dierking, Kings of Kauffman]

"Since coming back from injury, he is a different player at the plate though. Since returning, he has slashed an impressive .340/.389/.500 and a .889 OPS over the last 13 games. During that time he has recorded his two home runs on the season as well."

Kansas City Royals have already won the Jorge Soler trade [Mitchell Wittman, KC Kingdom]

"Many will never view the Kansas City Royals as winners in the deal, no matter what Soler does (short of maybe winning another World Series). Those people are wrong."

When it comes to the Kansas City Royals, fans aren’t thinking playoffs at all even with the American League Central as bad as it is. The Indians are barely above .500 at the moment, but we all know how this season will end in the division. Cleveland will heat up later in the summer and win the Central, just like they did last season.

Having the Royals batters hitting well is definitely good though, especially when that’s paired with the starting rotation dealing. Jakob Junis has been nails and Ian Kennedy looks pretty good this season too.

The biggest talking point will obviously be the trade deadline, but the Royals players who could potentially be dealt still have time to show off before that time comes. That will be an exciting time for Royals fans, as we sit back and wait for the rebuilding process to take off again.
