CHIEFS VS RAIDERS TWICE IN A MONTH

Chiefs fans will go a long time without seeing their squad face off against the hated Raiders, as the two won’t meet until week 13, which is after KC’s bye week. That’s scheduled for December 2nd. They’ll then face off again in the season finale at Arrowhead Stadium.

What I make of this is that the schedule makers obviously see these two going at it for the division title. The Raiders underachieved last season by a mile and that led to them canning Jack Del Rio and bringing in Jon Gruden as their next head coach.

The Chiefs and Raiders split their match-ups last year, but it’s worth noting that Derek Carr has definitely struggled against the Chiefs. He’s won just two games against them during his four-year career and is 0-4 at Arrowhead.

The Raiders having to travel to Arrowhead in December when it’s cold out (then again in Missouri you never know what the weather will be like) fares well for the Chiefs. Remember in 2016 on that Thursday night game when it was in the single digits outside? Or last year when it was chilly out for the noon kickoff?

Carr hasn’t played well against the Chiefs and if it’s cold for that week 17 match-up, all should be well for the Chiefs. Who knows? Maybe Kansas City will have the division and a number one overall seed locked up by then and Chad Henne will get the start that week.
