DANNY DUFFY STAYING HEALTHY ALL SEASON

One of the biggest knocks on Danny Duffy throughout his career has been that the guy just can’t seem to stay healthy. Now we’re not talking Kyle Zimmer bad, but Duffy has been injury prone throughout his time in the major leagues.

Last year Duffy spent two separate stints on the disabled list, but still had a decent season performance wise. He’s the Opening Day starter for the Royals (his second straight year in that role) and has already dealt with some shoulder issues this past week.

Duffy has yet to reach 200 innings during his career and the most innings thrown he’s had was 179.2 in 2016. That was the year in which Duffy was in legitimate contention to win the Cy Young near the end of the season.

Duffy has to be the best arm in the rotation this year. If he can stay healthy, that’ll be a great sign for Royals fans heading further into the rebuild.
