ALL-TIME LEADERS IN RUSHING YARDS – NUMBER 13: CORY ROSS (2,743)

Nebraska Running Back from 2002-2005

Although Cory Ross played for some of the more disappointing Cornhusker teams, he still had a solid career at Nebraska. He had 597 carries for 2,743 yards and 17 touchdowns during that time.

Ross’ best season came as a junior in 2004, when he had 207 carries for 1,102 yards and six touchdowns. That season saw the Huskers go just 5-6 under first year head coach Bill Callahan in what was definitely one of the more forgettable seasons for the program.

Ross was a Husker highlight though. He went over 1,000 yards rushing and was certainly a bright spot for Nebraska football fans that year.

Ross went undrafted, but he spent two years in the NFL, both with the Ravens. He was a special teams player and spent some time returning kicks and punts. Ross also spent time in the United Football League and is currently a coach of the Quad City Steamrollers of Champions Indoor Football.
