Kansas City Royals: Free agent wish list for 2018 season

It wasn’t long ago when I could write these wish lists and they’d be somewhat realistic. That is not the case anymore.

Dayton Moore said it best when he said the previous phase of who the Kansas City Royals were was over and that it was time to move on. That means these next few years will be a bit tough and the bandwagon fans will thin out quickly.

Some of these players wouldn’t have been all that unrealistic (Logan Morrison wants to play in Kansas City!), but Moore doesn’t seem to be all that big on bringing anyone in this offseason. Eric Hosmer signing elsewhere set the Royals up for a rebuild and that kind of puts the front office in a tough spot as far as free agency goes.

Sure, they could sign free agents, but what’s the point if the team is only going to win 70-73 games? Is it really worth giving Morrison a two-year deal for an extra four or five wins? A bad season is a bad season.
