So, there you have it! The best free agents that Dayton Moore has signed during his 11+ year career as the Kansas City Royals general manager.

Royals fans were spoiled for a few years because it seemed like any player that Dayton Moore signed ended up panning out for the team. That’s what pushed them to their first World Series title in three decades and it’s why fans have confidence whenever Moore brings someone in.

Things haven’t been as great in that department recently, but you can’t hit on every free agent, especially the ones that Moore likes to bring in. He usually goes for players who have been dinged up a bit or are on the decline.

We saw both Volquez and Morales post career years as members of the Royals and both of those performances got this team a World Series trophy in 2015. Other players like Jason Vargas had tremendous input as well and even Jeremy Guthrie, whose stats might not have been the most impressive, contributed as a motivational speaker during that run.

Other older school players like Jeff Francoeur are easy to forget about, but that 2011 season Frenchy had was impressive. It’s just a shame the rest of that deal didn’t work out.
