KC Chiefs: Quarterback situation in AFC West before free agency begins
While the Broncos have the unanswered quarterback situation at the moment, the Chiefs might have the best situation with an unknown 22 year old taking over in 2018.
If Patrick Mahomes balls out this season, then the Chiefs will have a great few years ahead of them, as Mahomes would still be on a rookie deal. That would allow the Chiefs to still spend money on other guys while Mahomes is still getting the minimal amount.

Chiefs fans know what to expect out of Philip Rivers and the Chargers, and honestly, that will be a tough team in 2018. Los Angeles showed that when healthy, they can really play at a high level and contend for the division and this season the division will be pretty wide open once again.
As for the Raiders, their success will hinge on if Derek Carr progresses or regresses. He regressed mightily last year and the Raiders went 6-9 with him under center as a result. Carr has yet to win at Arrowhead Stadium and has only defeated the Chiefs twice in eight tries.
The Broncos will certainly be the team to watch in the division as far as quarterbacks go. Elway has shown that he can’t really find quarterbacks in the draft, so him turning to free agency will be nothing new. Let Denver overpay Kirk Cousins and see how that turns out for them.
