KC Chiefs fans just want to see their team make it to (and preferably win) a Super Bowl in their lifetime. Well, Chiefs Kingdom might like the most recent Madden simulation that App Trigger released.
Michael Owens of App Trigger is already on the Madden simulation for the 2018 NFL season and it’s (mostly) good news for Kansas City Chiefs fans. The Chiefs will make it to the Super Bowl, but unfortunately will lose at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks.
Now, it’s obviously worth noting that the 2017 season JUST ended on Sunday night and we haven’t even gotten to free agency or the draft yet. A lot can change with those two factors, as teams will either sign or draft their next franchise quarterback and other key players.
The Chiefs, according to the simulation, go 10-6 on the year, but don’t repeat as AFC West champions. The Chargers actually win the division (and the number one seed in the AFC) at 13-3, with the Broncos finishing at 7-9 and the Raiders going 6-10.
The biggest question mark here is that we have no idea what the Broncos’ quarterback situation is going to look like in 2018. They’ll be strong suitors for Kirk Cousins and it wouldn’t be shocking to see them draft a quarterback with that early first round pick either.
The Chargers are a good choice to win the AFC West, as they looked really good in the later half of the 2017 season. What killed the Bolts was that they couldn’t beat good teams down the stretch and that destroyed their chances of winning the division.

In the playoffs, the Chiefs get revenge on the Titans (who win the AFC South at 9-7), knock off both the Steelers (lol), and defeat the Chargers in the AFC Championship Game. If that all happens, I’ll obviously be ecstatic, but the Chiefs have won one playoff game in the last 20 years. For them to win three straight road playoff games would be a miracle.
Oh, not to mention they’d have to beat the Steelers, who have had Kansas City’s number for the last 15 years. I’m not counting on that to happen, but I’m glad to see the video game has faith in Patrick Mahomes‘ first full season as a starter.
The sim also has low expectations for the Patriots, who end up as a three-seed and lose in the first round to the Ravens. Yeah, I’m not sure I can buy into that. I know the Pats used to lose in the early rounds of the playoffs, but Tom Brady is somehow getting better every year.
In the sim, the KC Chiefs make it to Super Bowl LIII, but lose by 12 points to the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks defense deals the Chiefs fits and it’s something they can’t overcome at the end of the day.
While losing the Super Bowl would be crushing, making it there would be a first for a lot of Chiefs Kingdom. Many of us have gone our whole lives without seeing the Chiefs get to a Super Bowl, so it’d be nice to see them make it there at some point.
Yes, these early simulations might seem silly, but hey, it’s the offseason. Free agency is a month away and the draft is two months away. This seemed like a post that could get the fan base excited, even if it’s about something completely fictional. Let’s take what we can get, okay?
