No, I don’t really think that the Kansas City Chiefs would trade their starting quarterback to a division rival. The Chiefs think highly of Alex Smith, and they wouldn’t give an AFC West opponent that kind of a boost. However, you can’t ignore the possibility that this kind of a deal could end up happening.
The Broncos quarterback situation is pretty laughable right now. Trevor Siemian is clearly their best option, and not because he’s a good one. Both Brock Osweiler and Paxton Lynch have been complete disasters so far in Denver. John Elway is going to be scrambling to make some kind of a big move at quarterback.

I do believe Denver will target Kirk Cousins and Eli Manning before looking to Alex Smith. However, if those two are not options, then the price that the Broncos offer for Smith could be hard to overlook. John Elway really hasn’t been that impressive as a GM, and he’s definitely going to be feeling the heat. That could lead to a drastic move.
