Kansas City Chiefs: Potential Alex Smith landing spots
By Ben Almquist
Kansas City Chiefs: Alex Smith’s Next Team
#1: Buffalo Bills
It would be nothing short of poetic if the Kansas City Chiefs were able to get their pick back from the Buffalo Bills. For their own part, Buffalo has played themselves into a limbo at quarterback that will be tough to get out of. The new leadership doesn’t want Tyrod Taylor, but they may not be able to move up to get the quarterback they want in the draft.

The Bills just lost a horrific playoff game where quarterback play was definitely a problem. It would be easy to look at Alex Smith’s stats and see him as a big time upgrade. It would also solve the Bills problem of having to move up in the draft.
The best news here for the Chiefs is that Buffalo has a ton of ammunition to work with in a trade. The Bills have an extra first round, second round, AND third round pick to throw out there. This could really work to Kansas City’s favor, especially if it turns out to be a draft day trade. Brett Veach should have Brandon Beane on speed dial.
C’mon…wouldn’t it be great to get our first round pick (and maybe something extra) back?
The Kansas City Chiefs should have no lack of suitors for the services of Alex Smith this offseason. As long as the Chiefs play their cards right, they should be able to walk away from this with a solid return of draft picks. The added cap space will also help fill some holes on the roster. It’s just on the KC front office to get it done.
