ALL-TIME LEADERS IN PASSING YARDS – NUMBER 11: TANNER LEE (3,143)
Nebraska Quarterback in 2017
Tanner Lee transferred to Nebraska from Tulane in 2016 and sat out that entire season. When he took the field in 2017 as the Huskers starting quarterback, the hopes were that he could get Big Red back to relevancy.
[Lee] already made this list after just one year in Lincoln.
Lee finished his one season under center for the Huskers with 3,143 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions. He, unlike everyone on this list so far, was not a running quarterback at all. Boy, could he sling the ball though!
Tanner Lee had potential, but things just didn’t go Nebraska’s way during his lone season in a Cornhusker uniform. The Huskers only won four games with Lee taking the snaps and at times, he had no choice but to throw the ball due to the team trailing by so much.
Mike Riley, the coach who brought Lee in, was fired after the 2017 season. That could have played a big part in why Lee opted to forgo his senior season and enter the 2018 NFL Draft.
Lee had his fair share of bad games, but he already made this list after just one year in Lincoln. That shows how talented of a passer Lee was.
