Nebraska quarterbacks were always known more for their running abilities rather than their passing skills. This list is a clear indicator of that.

Not only that, but times have definitely changed in football and it’s easier to throw for more yards in today’s game. Four of the top five Huskers on this list were guys who played for Nebraska in the 2000s.
Even Tanner Lee, a guy who spent one year in Lincoln, is already in the top 15. Of course, Lee’s argument can be that he HAD to throw a lot due to the defense not being able to prevent offenses from finding the end zone.
It’s fun to look back at the history of Nebraska football and we all hope that Scott Frost, who made an appearance on this list at number 14, can get the program back to those fun days in the 1970s and the 1990s.

The top two quarterbacks on this list have been two of the last three guys to take the snaps for the program. That just goes to show that if the Cornhuskers find the right guy at quarterback, he can do great things for the program and the university.
