Kansas City Chiefs: 5 Players To Watch
#5 Parker Ehinger – OG
It has been one of the more baffling situations for the Kansas City Chiefs this year. Despite not having any reliable play at the left guard position, the Chiefs have not put in last year’s starter Parker Ehinger at the position. The second-year player, coming off of a knee injury, has yet to make the active roster. He’ll finally get his chance this week, albeit at right guard.
There are some plausible reasons why Parker Ehinger wasn’t playing. Continuity is very important on the offensive line, and Ehinger was a late addition to the mix this year. However, with the Chiefs having to rotate a few players through that spot, it’s tough to buy. Maybe he just isn’t that good…but then why keep him at all? Plus, he played decently as a rookie.
This should be considered an audition for the 2018 season for Parker Ehinger. He needs to come out and show that he should have been starting the whole time. If Ehinger plays well enough, he may even earn the starting left guard job moving forward to the playoffs. This will be the biggest game of his career.
