K-State Football Recruiting

Top Three Commits

We have yet to see K-State hit on anything higher than a 3-star recruit so far in this class. However, they have managed to find some talent that will fit in well with what Bill Snyder likes to do with his teams. The Wildcats have received 11 commitments so far, of which these are the top three:

Christian Duffie – OG – Humble, TX (***): The Wildcats rely heavily on their running game, so getting quality offensive linemen is important. Christian Duffie is a big guard who should help move the pile for K-State. Duffie wasn’t heavily recruited, but did have a number of Power 5 offers on the table.

John Holcombe – QB/DT – Humble, TX (***): Bill Snyder likes big athletic quarterbacks who can carry his run game. John Holcombe is a quality athlete who should fit into that role nicely. However, he is not much of a passer which is why he only had two Power 5 schools make him an offer.

Wayne Jones – S – Owasso, OK (***): If you want to run the ball in the Big 12, you had better be able to slow down opposing pass attacks. That makes a commitment from a player like Wayne Jones very important to the Wildcats. Jones is a big hitter with decent coverage skills. He has a good chance at being an early contributor to K-State.
