The NCAA early signing period is here and there will be a lot of decisions made. Here is what to look out for with the K-State football program.
Nobody would ever claim that the K-State football team has been a recruiting powerhouse. That simply isn’t Bill Snyder’s style when it comes to building a program. Snyder has had success without a dominant recruiting program. However, his time in Mahattan is coming to an end, so recruiting is becoming more important for the future.
The Wildcats are coming off of a disappointing regular season. K-State had some preseason hopes of being a contender in the Big 12, but came up well short of that mark. They still have the Cactus Bowl ahead of them, but that isn’t much of a consolation prize. All eyes are firmly turned towards recruiting and the future.
Of course, the biggest question facing Kansas State is the future of Bill Snyder as head coach. There have been no shortage of rumors surrounding this situation. That includes at least one report showing Snyder isn’t letting go of his control. That is a situation that can cause distractions and confusion during the recruiting process.
As it currently stands, the K-State football recruiting class lacks any kind of a top name. The Wildcats could really use someone for the rest of the program to get excited about. That’s got to be at the top of their list.
In the meantime, here is how the recruiting program currently looks in Manhattan, Kansas…
