Royals Rumors: MLB Trade Market
Danny Duffy – SP
While he’s not really directly involved in this specific batch of Royals Rumors, it would be foolish to leave Danny Duffy out of the conversation. The Kansas City Royals starter is the team’s ace, but has been the source of a number of rumors this offseason. It has been enough to get Duffy to become very vocal about his desire to stay in KC.

The Royals extended Danny Duffy last year with the belief that they would be building around him for the future. However, with the team set for a rebuild, they can’t overlook the fact that he would be a valuable trade piece. Duffy has the talent to be a top 10 pitcher in MLB, and will have a robust market.
Any team that comes calling about Danny Duffy will already know what his contract is, so that won’t play a major factor. A suitor team would certainly be thinking about their World Series chances. That means Duffy will likely attract a huge haul on the trade market, that would be huge in helping any rebuilding efforts.
This Kansas City Royals roster could look very different within the next few months. The Royals have some assets that could bring back quite a solid return. Of course, KC fans won’t like seeing some of their favorite players leave, but that is the nature of the league these days.
